Ekar Farm is a communal urban farm, inspired by Jewish values. We work to build community, provide experiential and environmental education, and grow sustainably produced fruits and vegetables, expanding access to those in need.
Every Sunday throughout our growing season, families have made Ekar a part of their activities. Planting tomato and cucumber seeds, tending the pea vines and apple trees, picking beans and pumpkins. Ekar provides holiday festivals throughout the year such as harvesting honey for Rosh Hashanah and decorating a farm sukkah for Sukkot. Ekar is a wonderful place for families to share old wisdom with the next generation.
We also offer family oriented Jewish programming throughout the year – on site in season, and in Sunday Schools and Jewish Day Schools in the off season.
