Bonai Shalom… your Jewish home!
Over 30 years ago our founders gave us a name which means “Builders of Peace.” Today, Bonai Shalom is a congregation embracing the essence of that original concept.
Our community is a warm and welcoming family, sharing each other’s joys and sorrows. Every Friday night we welcome the Shabbat Queen with an uplifting service, joyous participation, and soulful melodies. During our traditional Shabbat morning services, we celebrate with soaring spirit. Shabbat morning babysitting is provided by members on a volunteer basis. Our religious school, one of only 23 Conservative synagogues in the United States designated a “School of Excellence” by the Conservative movement, is a place where children love to learn from a dedicated and caring group of teachers. Our young parents provide bi-monthly services for our youngest members.
Congregation Bonai Shalom is situated on one of the most beautiful spots on the eastern portion of South Boulder Creek. Our Kiddushes, following Shabbat services, are held outdoors as long as weather allows.
While maintaining its identity as Boulder’s conservative egalitarian synagogue, Bonai Shalom is a diverse, multi-generational congregation. We have, as our foundation, a warm, accepting and participating membership. We believe that our rabbi, Rabbi Marc Soloway, has been able to build on this foundation through his enthusiasm and spirituality. We look forward to welcoming you in our Bonai Shalom “tent”, in the spirit of Abraham and Sarah, who were known to give travelers a warm welcome. Children are very welcome.
