B’nai Havurah is an inclusive, participatory Jewish Reconstructionist community (Kehillah) that is passionately committed to experiencing Judaism by infusing tradition with renewed meaning in a contemporary American context. We do this through study (Torah), worship and joyous practice (Avodah), social justice (Tikkun Olam), acts of kindness (Gemilut Hasidim), and connection with the Jewish People (Am Yisrael).
We provide warm gatherings, participatory and engaging services, spirited music, a learned and passionate rabbi, dedicated staff, lay leaders and volunteers, intellectual stimulation, and exciting activities for people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
We are a community that genuinely cares for and supports one another. We blend contemporary thought and creativity with tradition. We offer a strong, vibrant and guided Havurah program with over 50 years of creating and sustaining engaged groups. We are constantly engaged in discussion. We question, challenge and learn from each other, and therefore are open to others participating in our conversations.
Our religious school students from preschool to high school learn through action as they explore Jewish history, holidays, customs, rituals, values, music and Hebrew language. Our innovative, engaging curriculum is designed to inspire the entire family to participate and learn.
